Instagram Love

It has been a few days since I have written on my blog as I was dealing with a little bit of burn out. Yesterday while waiting in the car for my daughter to come out of the bank I was scrolling through my Instagram pictures on my phone and saw one of the people I follow did a post on her favorite Instagram accounts. So I thought I would do the same thing and share just a few of my favorites.

Lazy Days

It has been a few days since I have posted. Last month was a good month for me on my blog as I posted everyday. This past week has been a little crazy for me with my niece and her husband visiting, doctor's appointments for my daughter and husband, many errands and checking up on my mother in law via long distance after her car accident.

Today I am going to try and be a little lazy. I did get up this morning and made bacon and hashbrowns for the family for breakfast and my husband fries the eggs. I have two loads of laundry done and the rest of the day I am hoping to spend reading and finishing a book. Although I may have to help my husband here and there in the shop.

Right now I am reading Sisters of Shiloh by Kathy and Becky Hepinstall. I have less than a hundred pages left in it so I should be able to finish today. It is the story of two sisters who pretend they are men so they can join the army during the Civil War. One sister Libby wanted to join to avenge the death of her husband. She is determined to kill 21 Yankees - one for each year of her husband's life. The other sister Josephine joined to help protect her sister - not to kill anyone. It has been a very interesting book and I am glad I took the time to read it.

I also have recently bought or have been given some adult coloring books. These are supposed to relieve stress. So I would like to work on a few pages from them in the next day or two. Above is just one of the ones I have received. I like how a lot of the adult coloring books have great kalediscope designs are not just a picture like the ones we used as children.

One more thing I need to do on a lazy day is to catch up on my magazine reading. I have about three or four issues of HGTV magazine, RT times magazine and Success magazine as well as I have a new puzzle book I have been wanting to work on. There are also a few other random magazines I have purchased to read that I have not had time to look at yet. My problem is that I seem to not want to book my books down to do something else or I am on a deadline to get a book done for a review so I think oh I will look at this later and then forget it.

What sort of things to you like to do on your lazy days?

Currently May 2015

This blog post is brought to you by Kristin at Rukristin (click here to visit). I like her idea of telling your story one week at a time. I am going to tweek mine a little and tell you my story one month at a time and give you a recap at the end of the month.

Watching
Texas Rising, Outlander, Genius, Traveling with Brian Unger, Street Outlaws, Deadliest Catch

Reading
The books I read in May were: The Quick and the Thread by Amanda Lee - this is the first book in her embroidery cozy mystery series. Wild by Cheryl Strayed - this a woman's journey through the Pacific Crest Trail. Some Like it Witchy by Heather Blake - this is her fifth book in her wishcraft cozy mystery series. Brownies and Broomsticks by Bailey Cates - this is the first book in her magical bakery cozy mystery series. It seems I was on a cozy mystery kick last month.

Feeling
I have been feeling a little stressed and worried this last month. Rachel has had some health issues that we are hoping can be taken care of soon. She is also learning how to eat different in preparation for a future surgery. She has lost seven pounds and I am proud of her for that. Scott had foot surgery on the 27th and while I am not so worried about the surgery itself I am worried and stressed over the money part of it. Not only do we have the bills to worry about we will be short a whole paycheck and trying to figure out where that is going to come from is a little stressful.
