(In school and later in life don't let what people say get to you and make you cry so much)
You are beautiful
(This is something everyone should think about themselves)
Things will be ok
(This is something I need to remember each day. Learn not to worry so much)
Follow your dream
(One of my big dreams is to write a book. I need to get started on this)
You will never make some people happy - so do what you want
(There are people in my life that it seems that no matter what I do I will never make them happy nor do I ever have the right job, do the right things in my life because they are such a negative person, so I need to learn to live my life for me not them)
Don't be so sensitive
(Again don't cry so much, learn to have a tougher skin)
Be more positive
(I wish I would have spent more time looking at the positive side of life and am now learning how to do that)
Do not be ashamed of who you are
(The town I grew up in made me feel like a piece of dirt and I did not belong because I was not from there, was not pretty enough for them and my family did not have money. I wish I would not have given them the time of day to upset me about who I am and where I come from)
Write down your memories
(I wish I would have kept a journal of memories of my times with my family that is no longer here)
Stand up to mean kids
(When kids were mean to me when I was younger I wish I would have stood up to them and told them to leave me alone)
Don't be afraid to say what you think
(I don't say what I think about most things because no matter what I say to some people I am wrong so it is easier to not say anything at all)
(Remember that you are a great person no matter what happens in life and always love yourself, no matter what)
I want to talk about penpals today. Have you ever had a penpal, do you want a penpal, do you know what a penpal is? My answer to each of these of these questions is yes. How about you?
I enjoy buying new pens, papers and even journals and what better way to use these then to have a penpal. Penpals are a great way to meet new people from all over the world and connect with them on issues that you have in common. I think it is fun to have international penpals so you can you learn about other countries.
Recently I have found some really good websites to help you find some penpals and to join in on the letter writing community. I will give you a highlight of them and let you visit them for more information.
Penpal of the Week - Link to Penpal of the Week - This is a place that you can go to find a new penpal, buy stationary or just look around. In order to get a penpal from here you will need to send in a letter and then they will post it on their site for people to connect with you. Take a look around I like the vintage look of their site. This site is free to join.
Letter Writers Alliance - Link to Letter Writers Alliance - This site is comprised of a group of people who love to write letters. On this site you can see letter writing events that they sponser, get downloadable stationary, purchase stationary, postcards or stamps and find a penpal. In order to find a penpal through their site you must first become a member which costs $5. The membership will get you full access to their website, a patch, postcard, and member card. The charge is a one time fee. After you become a member just follow the instructions on their website to connect with a penpal.
There are many other sites for finding penpals on both the internet and Facebook. I just caution you to make sure you don't write to just anyone or give all of your personal information out before make sure everything is on the up and up.
I think this is a way to bring back the lost art of letter writing which like I said I enjoy. I encourage you to find a penpal and start writing.
(When I was younger there was a lot of frost on the trees and it looked more like paint so I asked the question who painted the trees. No every year I get asked that question)
Look at the whoies.
(When Matthew was very little and just learning how to talk he would see the horses on the way to my grandma's house and he would always say look at the whoies (horses)
My peanuts hurt
(When Matthew was about 7 he rode a mechanical bull and when he got off he said his peanuts hurt. So we kind of still kid him about that.)
(My niece says whatever all the time and I say seriously all the time so we both get teased and randomly our family says these words to us)
I did not know the Winnebago Indians make campers.
(Where I am from the Winnebago Indians have a reservation and hold pow-wows. Well one day my niece who is a bit of a ditz saw a Winnebago motor home and made the statement I did not know Winnebago Indians made campers. She thought the Indians that lived on the Winnebago reservation made the motor homes. She did not realize that the Winnebago motor home company has nothing to do with the Winnebago Indians on the reservation.)
