I have been following Heather Buchman on Facebook. She has started a group called Create an Amazing Life Goal Setting Planning Group. This group was started to help us all set our goals and to work towards completing them. All with the help and support of some great people. If you would like to check out this group and join in just check out her Facebook page by clicking here.

I will be doing a post every now and again to work through this process. Some posts may be real in depth and others not so much. So hear we go.

What was your greatest triumph in 2014? For me one of my greatest accomplishments was my husband and I celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It has at times taken some work but I am proud to day I have been married to my best friend. We celebrated by taking our long past due honeymoon to Key West. It was a very nice and relaxing time.

What are 10 things you accomplished in 2014 and are proud of? Thinking more positively, listening to self help audio books, less road rage, thinking of some dreams and goals, blogging more often, taking a trip to Nebraska, organizing my books, purging my scrapbooking things, giving up pop and chocolate, and seeing my daughter graduate high school.

Lessons you have learned in 2014? It is a less stressful ride if you don't get so angry at the other drivers, you feel better if you think more positively, it was easier to give up pop than I thought it would be and do not stress/worry so much when there is nothing you can do about it.

What was the smartest decision you made in 2014? One of the smartest decisions I made last year was to give up pop. I was told I had to do this for health reasons but I am so glad I did. There are times I miss it but I like not having toothaches or worse acid problems if I would have continued drinking it. I am also glad that I went to a doctor about my acid reflux problem as I found out things that can help with it and to know that it was a lot worse than I thought and that I have a heital hernia. I am now doing better with my issue.

What is great about you right now? What skills do you have that you look forward to using? What hobbies are you good at? What about you is going to drive you to reach your goal? A great thing about me is that I can be stubborn enough to complete what I put my mind to. I am an avid reader and blog about books so I feel this will help me to reach one of my goals. I would love to write a book and with all that I read and my practice in writing I feel as if this is an obtainable goal for me. My determination will keep me working towards this goal.

One Little Word - 2015

One Little Word is a project created by Ali Edwards. She started this project in 2006 to choose a word that she could reflect on for the entire year. Once a month you will receive a lesson from Ali that will help with different ways to reflect on your word. To learn more about the project and One Little Word please check out Ali's website by clicking here.

As most of you know last year I took part in the One Little Word project for the first time. I really enjoyed it. Last year my word was CHANGE. The reason I picked change was because I wanted to make some changes in my life. One of the big changes I wanted to make was to think more positively. For me this was a thing that took some work as I tend to think of the glass as being half empty more than times than I think of it as being half full. Something that has helped me to be a more positive person it to surround myself with more positive things. I now have a board in my office with many positive thoughts on it, I have some nice plaques both at home and work with positive sayings and words on them, I have been listening to and reading self-help books and learning to not things get to me so much. Now I will admit some days I do slip but I have made some great strides in my attitude change and I will continue to work on this forever.

For 2015 I have chosen the word DREAM. The reason I have chosen this word is because I believe it is important to dream. If you do not have dreams you have nothing in my opinion. This year I plan on making goals out of my dreams and turn my dreams into reality. Here is a quote that I have found that says perfectly what I want to do this year.

It is important to have both big dreams and small dreams. If you do this then you will be able to obtain you dreams more easily. I am looking forward to see where my word will take me this year. One dream I will be working on this year is writing a book. It has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl and this year I am going to make this dream a reality.

Happy New Year

This year I want to do a better job at journaling a little bit each day. So let's start with day one of the new year. Each day I am going to be using journaling prompts so you will never know what I may write about.

If I could travel back in history where would I go?

I would like to go to more than one time period in history. I have always loved the 1800s, to me the women that lived then were strong as they had to survive without all of the conveniences that we have today. Yes I know they did not know what they were missing because they did not exist but still it would be hard especially if you traveled back and now do not have what you are used to. Also if I lived in this time period there are a number of people I would like to talk to if I had the chance. Thomas Jefferson - his love of books always amazes me, Laura Ingalls Wilder - everyone knows she has always been my idol and Sacajawea - I would like to hear about her travels with Lewis and Clark.  It must have been amazing if you lived in the late 1800s to see all of the changes that were coming to this country, like electricity and automobiles for two. I am not sure I would like it once I got back there but I would like to think that I could survive and be as tough as the women that lived then.
